Barrus Websites

Wayne Campbell, Mike Bitsch, and others have worked to create family Websites. In 2009 I visited Mike's Barrus Family site and was delighted to watch videos of Neil's grandchildren and their families putting on skits together. Mike's vision was to develop the site into something useful for extended families. The site is not accessible at the present time. Mike shared his vision for the site, which was to create an area for each family with the main page holding "recent" posts to family blogs and general family information.

The Website created by Wayne and Karen Campbell is located at http://wk77.selfip.net/wiki/index.php/Main Page (pardon the unfinished URL but it works for now). This work-in-progress has the following goal, according to Wayne: "The wk77.net/wiki is dedicated as a place to organize family history stories, photos, and research for those who are related in some way to the key ancestors you find listed on the site. ...I am listing my grandparents as key entry points into the wiki. For our purposes, "family" is a group of people related to one another by blood or law (marriage). If you are family, please feel free to register as a user and contribute--even to the extent of adding more key ancestors." If we link all our family Websites we can provide pointers to each others' Web pages. Our youth and young families will steer the work and we will get something done.
